Getting a variety of Vitamins & Nutrients in your diet

One way to start putting more effort in your diet is to take care of it. By keeping a journal on what you consume everyday will be an appropriate way to keep track of the foods that you eat.

To start anew your diet, an effective way is to pen down a list of your consumes daily, for instance, I had:

Breakfast: brown walnut toast with butter and sugar; honey lime water; an egg
Lunch: (eat out) stir-fried rice vermicelli; mixture of chicken and duck meat in small portion; cabbage; potato; bell peppers; shrimp & cuttlefish in small portion
Dinner: (haven't had my dinner yet, but most probably will be these) calrose rice; mixture of meat or fish in small portion; veggies
Dessert: any of the following choices; fruits, red/green bean or other asian sweet soup; organic soymilk (warm)

As you have observed I try to eat more varieties in small portions, I'm still experimenting with it and I'm not certain to say if doing so has help tremedously for my body and health. I'm trying to see if it works better for my digestion and energy level. Anything else I'll keep the blog post updated.

What I try to do is to list down whatever I have eaten for the day and plan accordingly for the next few days or so in order to make sure I eat a balance diet. Vitamins and nutrients work hand in hand with each other for maximum function and absorption. It is extremely important for one to understand this point because for some people, it is easy to think that they are eating healthy when they are not because there might be a tendency we concentrate too much certain foods and the nutrients are not fully utilised in the best way possible.

Food items like fish, chicken, pork, egg, rice, green veggies are some of the staples of my food plate. Often, from time to time, I'll make sure I get to consume some butter, kelps, nuts and all other kinds of vegetables and fruits as long as I find them in my grocery stores.

A bad habit that I've kicked off was getting over chocolates and other sweet confectionaries over the past few months. I used to have had them after every single meal in a day. Kinder Bruneo, Ferrero rocher noir, lindt/godiva/green&black's dark chocolates... and the list could go on, I go crazy on chocolates and eat them whenever I find them. I acted like a drug addict then, really.

So now I do not eat fast food anymore than I do for the previous year- maybe once a month. But at the moment unless I have an incredible strong urge to eat KFC, I do not step into a fast food joint. I try very hard not to even for the times I really think of eating KFC. It's one of my weakness I admit.

In the meantime, I am still working on my fondness for my likeness of vanilla ice-cream and the ice-cream from TWG. I think about them now as I write. Wish me luck!

Discussion on Butter

Most would have probably been told to avoid all dairy products
from their diet. I have heard how people complaint about dairy as a phlegm
forming foods and we should cut down our intake of dairy as much as possible.

However, I would be honest and admit that I am a huge fan of
butter and I really look forward to eating butter with bread in the mornings as
my breakfast. So naturally I have to look into it and read up about how truly unhealthy
butter is and if it is really that unhealthy to begin with (as some claim).

Below is some of the information that I have gathered:

- Butter consists of mainly butterfat, milk protein and water.
- The saturated fatty acids of butterfat are Palmitic acid, Myristic
acid, Stearic acid and traces of Pentadecanoic acid and Heptadecanoic acid.
-The unsaturated fatty acids are Oleic acid, Palmitoleic acid,
Linoleic acid and Linolenic acid.
-Clarified butter is butter with almost all of its water and milk solids removed, leaving
almost-pure butterfat. Known as Ghee.
-Rich in vitamin A- necessary for thyroid, adrenal health and good
eye vision.
-It is a source of Vitamin K2- for treating arthritis, osteoporosis, tooth
decay, tuberculosis, emphysema and asthma.
-Butter helps to protect from gastrointestinal infections.
-The fat enables body to absorb minerals, as it is a source of
Activator X.

As I have also heard, human breast milk contains more than 33%
fats (mostly saturated fats). Perhaps this will make it clear that fats are not
necessarily a bad thing? The key is (really) moderation.

New Year's Resolution

I feel resolution shouldn’t only start for a new year, if anytime we think it’s time for change, we should just start making the changes. Slowly, gradually, for all changes are probably uncomfortable and hard to stick to in the beginning right? But then if we really wanted to, nobody can stop us. Err, yeah just want to put things in perspective, just saying.

So, It’s only 2 days away from 2012, they say it’s the end of the world, didn’t notice much warning signs but however, the weather’s been definitely weird recently. Bangkok (a country that only used to have summer all year round), now temperature there drops to a whopping 15 degree Celsius. It’s crazy. And perhaps good wake-up-call for people around the world to do their part and care for the environment slightly more than they used to. Anyone with a right mind would know that the earth can’t sustain if humans go on living a lavish like that, like now. I really hope for the better in 2012 and that people will begin to cherish, care, love and share more for others. And just so you know, I’m pro-OWS.

That aside I’m here to speak about my New Year’s Diet resolution, I’m feeling myself getting more discipline, but it really suckk to live in a place where others care nuts about how they prepare their food and then selling it to you. They use the lowest quality materials and ingredients, put in a zero effort into their hygiene practices, do not care if the food that they served you warm on the table has actually been lying cold in the kitchen for more than 4 hours. Thanks to microwave. Really, eating out is sometimes a chore, and more so a chore when we all have to eat out due to our unspeakable limitations. Like a job or something like that. Sooo looking forward to change that! Next year! I so hope!

Some rules for me to stick to:

1. No cakes, no ice-cream, no desert, no commercially-attractive goods or rubbish of any kind

2. Limit sugar intake, I’M SERIOUS

3. Drink plenty of water

4. Eat 70% to 80% cooked vegetables (varieties) as often as possible

5. Eat meat, once daily

6. Get used to the original taste of meat and vegetables

7. Get a pair of running shoes

8. Start dancing

9. Go to bed before 12.30am

10. Love myself! (it’s important, cause if you are narcissistic chances are that you will do ANYTHING to look after yourself)

I will stick to it I will stick to it. I will stick to it. I will stick to it. And repeating that for the rest of the day until I’m able to successfully program that in my brain.

Avoiding Genetically modified food

I know there has been no proven links that GM food are bad for us or carcinogenic, however sometimes I think it’s best to trust your gut and follow your instincts if something is right or not. For a big part in life anyway I don’t feel that all things need to be proven in order for it to a fact, of course depending on what you believed in that is. I am just hoping that I can share some useful information here so that lesser people will tell me that “oh, I know about GM food, they’re not good, but what can you do? Everything has corn/maize products nowadays” or simply by saying “ haha you can’t avoid it or fight it, what can you alone do to make a difference?” well I’d say if we all just stop settling in and start doing what we really should be doing, then nothing is impossible. I’ve always believed, if only everybody demanded peace instead of another television set, then they’ll be peace.

Moving along, read below to avoid causing further harm to your body and health. I mean, there must be a relation to the ever growing sick/unhealthy population compare to the conditions of our fellow people in the past right? Aside from the increasingly radiation exposure that we are facing in our daily lives and the environmental pollution, it’s just impossible not to think about the correlation that food has a major impact on our body and health.

Corn
• Corn flour, meal, oil, starch, gluten, and syrup
• Sweeteners such as fructose, dextrose, and glucose
• Modified food starch

Soy
• Soy flour, lecithin, protein, isolate, and isoflavone
• Vegetable oil and vegetable protein

Diet & Dieting & Detoxification

Personally, I don’t encourage long term fasting methods as a form of detoxification, including juice fasting or simply fasting and not eating anything at all. Anything too extreme is not going to be sound for our bodies. For me, I have a different understanding of detoxification and dieting. Neither one should mislead you to thinking that stop eating food nor will consume help to eliminate toxins out of your body effectively. Note that your body works in sync with the energy sources that you provide it, in this case, food that we eat. Thus I do not see how extreme fasting can benefit out bodies in any way. What I believe is to eliminate the horrible kinds of food that we are tricked into eating these days and avoid consuming them to reduce contaminations/build ups in our body. And this should be long term, not just a 3 days or week thingy.

Below is a shopping list that I have created, most of the time I do my grocery shopping 2 times a week, and I have cut down on red meat consumption, remembered I refrained from eating red meat for almost 3 months and got back to eating them once in a long while because the more I read, the more I believed that moderation is the key to finding a balance for your diet and health.

- Peppermint tea; Dandelion roots tea; Green tea
- Bitter greens
- Chinese cabbage & lettuce
- Roots vegetable; beetroot & carrot
- Grains; brown rice, green & red beans
- Sea vegetables
- Fish (sea/river), poultry & red meat (moderately)

Liver & Skin Health

Liver & Skin Health

It is important that you liver is functioning properly in order for yourself to be less prone to occasional breakouts and even help to prevent other health problems later in life.

What I have learnt is that the Liver, being the crucial organ in our body for detoxification, protein synthesis and production of biochemical necessary for digestion also produces bile, an alkaline compound which is important for digestion via the emulsification of lipids. These are all essential for the proper expelling of toxins and waste products that we bring into our body every single day.

Thus, I feel right to say that if our Liver is functioning well, we will experience fewer breakouts, notwithstanding the fact that organs works hand in hand with each other to produce an optimum effect on our skin and health. I shall discuss about other organs in the coming posts. For now, I will focus on Liver first.

On Liver:

- The liver gets a dual blood supply from the hepatic portal vein and hepatic arteries. Supplying approximately 75% of the liver's blood supply, the hepatic portal vein carries venous blood drained from the spleen, gastrointestinal tract, and its associated organs.
- Not surprising to learn that liver is actually the second largest organ in the human body, the largest being out skin. Now you should certainly see the co-relations between your skin and your internal health conditions, it just makes sense you know.

As discussed above, you should be able to learn more on Liver elsewhere online or from other much more experienced individuals. What I have put down here are just the basics, all sourced online though. I can’t say for sure if they are with proof or without, for I can only be certain that what I have included up here are things that made sense with me and what I agreed based on my own experience with health and skin matters. Just hope to clarify at some point that all I am hoping for through my blog is to share and interact with other like-minded people and learn things together in a collaboration and fair manner. While I haven’t really got people to discuss with me yet, I hope it’ll happen sometime!

So moving on, to take care of your liver, it is beneficial to learn the below:

- Red beets; excellent blood purifier. Drink the juice.
- Dandelion; get dandelion roots and boil as teas, or find packaged good quality dandelion tea. Drink the tea.
- Warm water with a squeeze of lemon juice. (I use this method myself, you can do this continuously for 3 days every morning before breakfast or 3 hours after your lunch. Be gentle on the lemon juice as too much acid can be hard on your stomach)
- Bitter greens. (I have personally hear from my aunt, who is a doctor, telling me that vegetables that are bitter in taste are good detoxifier in nature. One example is bitter gourd, however I suggest you to pair it, lightly stir fry with a small quantity of pork or chicken as bitter gourd is known to be a “cooling” food. If you are a vegetarian, lightly fry then with garlic/ginger/onions.)

Or, if you already have fairly good skin and you just hope to take preventive measures to maintain your current skin condition, simply drink plenty (1 L – 2 Ls) of water every day.

Dejavu Fiberwig Lash Knockout

A good mascara for me has to be water resistant and yet easy to remove. Usually I’m pretty reluctant to use waterproof mascara since it takes much more time and effort for me to remove and they’re usually consider a pain when I see my eyelashes coming off along with the cotton that I use to wipe off my mascaras. I read about how easy it is to remove figerwig mascara using plain water and I decided to make my purchase to try it out. Plus I read raves about how it might be an excellent base to lengthen your lashes before you put on some other kinds of mascara to create more volume for your lashes.

Texture:

- Light, watery

Colour:

- Black, like your usual black for mascara

Effect:

- As you can tell from the picture (gah 0_o the messy hair and the lack of focus, apologies much!), with one application (several strokes) and I thought it didn’t really deliver the result as I had expected. Perhaps I will try to add on to the applications and see if I can achieve some really desirable effects for this mascara. Sometimes you just need to get familiar with a product to realise the benefits of it.
- Does not weigh down you lashes

Make up base: BRTC Blemish Balm

As mentioned in one of my earlier posts before, I am in the process of limiting my dependency on cosmetic products to only the very few products that I feel is necessary to me. Therefore, a good base is what I find helpful when I wanted to even out my skin tone and have some basic protection against UV rays from time to time. However I try to keep it at a minimum.

Some of the brands that I have tried for base (foundations, compact powder, etc.) include, Estee Lauder, Revlon, Ettusias, Shiseido, Dr. Jart, BRTC, Missha, Maybelline and L’oreal.

Let’s first talk about the BRTC Blemish Balm that I am currently using, and its good and bad (in point form, below):

(yes i consider getting a new camera)

Good:

· Right colour tone for me (I’m relatively fair)

· Stay put for a good 5-6 hours on a summer day (if you’re working in an air-conditioned environment)

· No artificial fragrance added

· Doesn’t feel oily (the Balm feels kind of a gel-type than lotion texture)

Bad:

· Tendency of congesting my pores

· Lots of chemical ingredients are added to produce the Balm

That’s basically it, the good outweighs the bad. Overall not bad, my only bone to pick would be that fact that it clogs my pores. But it might also be the problem of my own skin, I don't know yet since majority of the brands that I have tried gives me similar problem. With L’oreal’s Truematch and compact powders being the worst. I think maybe I shall have to find other alternatives then.

Oxidative Stress and its effect on us

Recently I stumbled upon an interesting topic on Oxidative Stress. I shall copy and paste the information here so you can have a better understanding on the subject matter:

“In the cytoplasm of the 60 trillion cells in your body, there are in each cell hundreds of mitochondria, organelles that take the food you eat and the oxygen you breath and produce the energy your body must have (ATP). Mitochondria have their own DNA distinct from nuclear DNA, and damage to mitochondrial DNA may be a major cause of aging. As oxidative phosphorylation and glycolysis produce ATP, the mitochondria use an electron transport chain. This process is imperfect and results in charged particles, atoms or molecules that have an unpaired electron in the outer ring. These dangerous free radicals include reactive oxygen species, such as hydrogen peroxide, hydroxyl and superoxide, as well as reactive nitrogen species. Because they are charged they are highly reactive and can damage lipids and cell membranes, proteins and enzymes and DNA. The great majority of free radicals are generated in the mitochondria but there are many other processes that can generate them.

To defuse these dangerous free radicals, the body has built in defense mechanisms, including endogenous anti-oxidants superoxide dismutase, catalase and glutathione. In addition our diet is an important source of antioxidants to counter free radicals. There are thousands of antioxidants, and fruits and vegetable are loaded with them (Diet: CRON). Most of the time our endogenous and dietary antioxidants combined can control the free radicals and minimize any damage.”

So it only makes more sense that diet is crucial to ones’ health and skin condition. It is sometimes very difficult to keep up with your goals and have enough discipline to make sure you’re following the most beneficial diet you have created for yourself. While it’s alright to play cheat once in a while, I think it requires much self-discipline and correction overtime to stick with a standard diet that you have created for yourself eventually.

For instance, I dined out at a Chinese restaurant today and I made a mistake of stuffing myself to full. It is an act absolutely discouraged because I have learnt that it is considered toxic to your body if you eat a 100% full meal, or in other words, feeling a 100% full after your meal is not recommended to anyone who wishes to be healthy.

So I have made a mistake, perhaps it is a good thing to have a blog and keep myself reminded of the process and mistakes I will or shall make throughout the period.

My own methods and tips to avoid acne breakouts

I'm listing them down in numbers form below, hope you guys find it helpful!

drink lots of water every single day, force yourself to drink half a cup of water every half an hour or at least every 45 mins. It shows after you have constantly do it for just 3 to 4 days from my own experience. Your face will begin to clear up. It's not difficult, have some discipline.
do not leave your make-up on overnight! I did it once and I have totally regretted it. The very next day my skin broke out! And I got this gigantic inflamed pimple right beside my nose. Don't do it!
I have said it and I will say it again. Put in effort and take care of you personal diet and skin care habits. For some, as I have experienced, might react to certain food and for some, it doesn't. So take the time to find out what works for you and what doesn't. At the same time, take note how you might react to certain food and if they break you out or not, and avoid them, or at least cut down on the amount you take in.
cleanse your skin well if you put on make-up products. Use a make-up remover (Cleansing oil, Cleansing Milk, or wipes) and cleanse again using a mild and gentle foam cleanser. Some people might actually tell you to avoid using foaming cleanser, but ultimately I feel that it's better knowing what works for you. So try and experience, everybody is different and the only way to find out is by experiementing.

So that is basically it. I have found out that the best way to avoid break out is by taking care of your diet. For instance, I break out every single time I eat almonds or drink more than perhaps 1/3 a cup of milk. Hope these information has helped you in some ways.

Skin as an Organ

I should probably share my views on the issue concerning diet and skin health, just to put things in perspective. I certainly believe there is a direct relationship between how our skin looks and the food we eat. And I feel that if a person is having troubles with his/her skin, then the first thing we should start thinking about is our diet. For me, I don't buy into the nonsense of anyone telling me that diet has nothing to do with acne or skin problems. Skin is an Organ! And our Organs will be affected by what we eat!

Aside from diet, other possible causes for affected skin that I've experienced on my own account is the change in hormone levels in women. Especially prior to menstruation as you might have already noticed, a few pimples here and there is completely normal I would say.

That said, since our skin is one or the largest Organs in the human body, it's only logical to think that our skin would be a mirror to our internal system and would likely give us signs on how well they are. My personal experience is that I break out really frequently especially when I consume junk food like chocolates (yes even Dark chocolates), potato chips (no matter which brand it is), ice-cream and sometimes, two bananas is all that it takes for pimples to appear the very next day (not junk food but the possibility that is caused by excess sugar intake).

In addition, I think it is rather important for one to have self-discipline in order to improve their overall state of health/well being. As I believed, when you take care of yourself internally, it will show externally- our skin. This is why I have come back to update my blog. I wanted to change my life for the better. That includes adopting a more natural way of beautifying myself instead of relying cosmetic products.

My skin condition (as of 19/11/2011):

For the past few months I've noticed that since I've started putting in more effort on controlling my diet, my skin has been pretty stable. Like I said I might have a few pimples (at most 2-3) every now and then (or before my period), however most of the time my skin is clear of pimples. On top of that, I've noticed that whenever I eat more than 3 tablespoons full of sugar a day, the tendency of me getting zits the next day would almost certainly be a sure outcome. That's why I've figured probably I am more sensitive to sugar that others, and I've learnt to cut down on it.

Skin care:

Basically cleansing and moisturising that's it. If I put cosmetic products on I would use a remover first to cleanse away the makeup and wash it again with a cleanser. And note I still do use makeup even though I know it's probably not the most beneficial thing that I can put on my face. However I've tried to limit the products I am using right now to only powder and basic products for my eyes. I don't even use lipsticks or gloss now and I try to moisturise by drinking lots and lots of water daily. Or occasionally I put jojoba with vitamin e oil on my lips if I need extra protection.

Guess that's about it for now. I hope this blog will provide me with a platform to interact with others and like-minded individuals so that we can help each other with the difficulties and troubles that we have in order to become better together. I will try to reach out to you guys! And hope you guys will be interested to discuss the various issues with me!

So after leaving this blog completely isolated for the longest time ever I’ve decided to come back and do something with it. I figured since I’ve gradually become more and more obsessed with the co-relations between health and food and beauty, it’s only natural for me to pen them down- findings, tips, information and such since I spend a huge amount of time learning the effects between food and health, not forgetting to mention I carry out test/experiments on myself as well, and I can definitely notice the difference that it makes.

That said, I’m not fanatical about cosmetics anymore, though I still use them. However, I have been cutting them down and I am in the midst of trying to eliminate unnecessary makeup products one at a time. My goal is be able to look good without having to depend on too many external products to help me achieve that.

For now, I am rather fixated with healthy eating habits and essential oils. I believe truly to the sentence that you are what you eat and that certainly reflects in your skin as well. Whereas I too believed that the practise of using essential oil will also help me to achieve my goal.

Hopefully this passion that I have now will encourage me to post daily on the interesting topics that I would like to discuss here in the future. I’m just exciting about it and couldn’t wait to get started!

It has almost the prettiest candy pink color, glides on smoothly upon application. However, like all estee lauder's lipstick, I have difficulties coping with its smell... just... pure... uncomfortable to inhale. Or else it would be perfect.

Toner: First up, your initial reaction would be, they must be plain water because they are scentless, colorless and almost, appeared like water. But they are a little stickier than plain water and they make good DIY sheet mask! I love them because it's in such generous amount and works great on my extremely sensitive skin.

Moisturising Essence: I went back to shanghai during winter last yeat and this thing saved me. However, I would like to add that it might not worked for those with dry skin as it is not rich enough for dry skins I would say. Plus, my mom's skin was peeling from the harsh weather condition at that time so I gave her this but it did not worked on her. -.- (she has mature skin and uses brands like Estee Lauder, ROC etc so perhaps that's the reason this mild essence just have absolutely no effect on her)

Moisturising Milk: Good for basic moistursing as I feel it does not do much for my skin.

Cleasning oil: A little bit difficult to blend (when applying on to the skin) and a little bit drying for me (after rinsing away with water).

ESSENTIAL PRODUCT: Christian Dior Ultimeyes Mascara

PET HATE: Profeccionals always over-pluck my my eyebrows, so I do them myself. I use Tweezerman tweezers. Scincare regime

DAILY ROUTINE: Lancome's products are perfect for my sensitive skin. I use Bi-facil Instant Cleanser for eyes, and Hydra Zen moisturiser for day, with Hydra Zen Nuit at night.

ENERGENCY PRODUCT: I get really dry lips. Kenzoki Sensuel Sweet and Smooth Duo is an amazing lip scrub and moisturiser.

BEST TIP: Never, ever touch your spots. I always leave them and they just go.

FACIAL: I visit facialist Anne Semonin in Paris; also in London at Claridge's . Sje really cleans my skin after all the make-up from the shows. Holiday must-haves

IN HER HAND LUGGAGE: A water spray, hand cream, wooly socks and a book. I am currently reading a novel by Russian author Daria Dontsova.

ON THE BEACH: Dior Bronze suncream SPF15 - I always wear factor 15 or above. Health

HEALTH: I take vitamin C every morning.

Have you ever wanted some concealers that conceals and heals your spots at the same time? Yeah... that's what I thought too, but unfortunately they only makes it grow larger!

Body shop teatree concealer review: If you were thinking of the above, I've already tested it for you (being a guinea pig), it doesn't really heals while it covers pretty okay. However, pimples will grow even with it's teatree ingredient in it.

Lets talk about one of my favourite cosmetic brand. I agree the prices for KP's products are a little steep but if you would rather not waste money to try so many products before deciding on one, this is definitely the brand to choose.

This powder will go great with it's liquid foundation, it light, matt and doesn't float when your skin starts producing oil, I am a big fan of their bases, foundations and lipglosses. The have awesome lipglosses that are fragrances free, non-sticky (but moisturizing) and long lasting! Those who detest lipglossed that makes you feel like you're having a hundred coats of sticky flims on your lips will love their glosses. I guarantee.

FYI: A product that sensitive skin should avoid using

When I bought this product initally I was happy with it since I'm all about affortable and value for money drugstore products. Plus it labelled to be fragrance free, thus of course I'm going to give it a try when I need to buy a new sunblock lotion for daily use.

And then! Nightmares! The two sides of my cheeks literally turned red blotchy and flaky after a constant 1 week of using it. I convinced myself this must be the cause since I haven't added any other new products into my daily skincare routine.

So be aware, if you have fair, sensitive (combination skin types) like mine. TRY avoid using this product.

Alright I managed to curb the idiotic annoying Antivirus Pro Malware on my computer but I am still unable to delete it completely! I'm freaking annoyed!

Alright anyway, time to talk about skincare & beauty. Straight to the point, I like Skinvital's Masks (available @ watsons) because it's affordable, effective and best of all fragrance free! Since a long time ago I have inculcated a firm believe that good skincare should not come with artifical fragrance, except essential oil that is. So all, yes I mean all my skincare products are pretty much fragrance free expect if the product is ingrediented with natural plant fragrance extracts or stuff similar like that.

I seriously think these scans I 've put onto my blog are not well received... oh well, honestly they are good reference for skincare freaks! I don't trust a source easily but most of the time models dooooo recommend awesome products like these in your regular magazines. Frequently, I take notice of a product recommendation and goes on trying it myself and I've got to say I love models! They really let you know what are the good products out there, like for instance if it weren't due to these information leak outs by model/backstage artist... I would still currently be asking you what is bioderma? What la mer? What?! What?!! And I'd probably be wasting loads of money going around to try every product that comes out of an advertisement.

In addition, credits to you regular beauty bloggers too! If not for the abundance ready information and reviews on cosmetics, skincare... well... (again!)I'd probably be wasting loads of money going around to try every product that comes out of an advertisement.

Almost Bioderma Sensibio~

I'm pretty sure many have heard or have used the infamous Bioderma Sensibio magic lotion that claims to tone, cleanse and moisturize when you wipe it to your face at one go, but howeve I like using the product (because it's soooo convenient, imagine you're dead tired after a day of work and all you wanna do is to jump face down to your bed when you reach your room). Sensibio works wonder! Open the bottle, pour some onto a cotton pad and all you have to do is wipe, wipe and wipe. All you make up comes off and yet skin feels well moisturized.

BUT...but, it cost a whopping $39.90 for just a 200ml bottle. Now I present you my lastest find that match up to the functions of Sensibo while doing a lesser damage to your pocket. It retails @ $16.90 if I'm not mistaken.

I forgot what it's called and how much quantity it contains but who cares. Just go down to your nearest guardian or watsons and you'll be able to find it! I'll recommend this to anyone, from the bottom of my heart.

*Leave your mascara and liner to proper eye make up remover, this product will not cleanse away waterproof mascara*

Skin Lab Mask

I don't think this mask is available in singapore but it is really good! Very moisturizing and fragrance free~ Which means its suitable for sensitive skin users also.

Review: its a sheet of mask filled with clear liquid, upon 15 mins of application the mask is still rather wet i would say. And it gives you a really cool sensation when putting the mask on. I'll definitely recommend this to anyone~~

Watson should seriously bring in this brand.

Seriously what's all the rave about? It really is just all right except that you kinda feel super comfortable with it's products due to the natural ingredients Dr Hau uses for all it's products...

Well all I have to say is you skin appear to be more cleanse and radiant after washing the mask away but the next day skin goes back to normal...

Or perhaps there's a procedures for using it? Anyone knows?

Oh and it retails for about $59 in singapore if i'm not wrong??

Eyeliners CANMAKE/REVLON/KATE

My favorite amongst them is KATE. You can draw any shape with it, it's so easy to use! All you have to do is simply layer and layer until you have build up the color (which is its only downside, the black is not black enough) and your eyeline's shape.

Additional info on KATE: cost around $15.90 at the time when I bought it. Has a very slim and thin tip.

2nd place is Relvon, the color is intense and beautiful plus it's easy to remove and doesn't leaves a mark after you try to cleanse it away.

Additional info on Relvon: cost $16.90 @ your regular watsons and guardian drugstores. If you were to compare the tip for Relvon's liner, it's somewhere between KATE and CANMAKE. I would say not too thin and not too thick.

Well... not much to praise for the CANMAKE's eyeliner except it's really very black in color when you compare it with KATE's eyeliner. But it run out fast, so I probably very much wouldn't purchase it again.

Mario Badescu Glycolic cleanser & Neutrogena Eye makeup remover

I strongly recommend MB's glycolic cleanser, it cleanse away dead skin and make your skin feels more refine after using. And the best part is that my sensitive skin doesn't react from it at all~

Whereas for the Neutrogena eye makeup remover, i will have to say i would not purchase it again. Doesn't do what it claimed to do and worst of all, it made my eyelash drop! I literally pour half down the basin and "try" to finish it off quicky as I don't want to be so wasteful by throwing it away.

Estee Lauder Night Repair & Eye Repair

Both of these are huge! In terms of price and popularity...

Well they are not mine, but my mum's. I borrowed it from her, anyway it's not the first time I did so, using her stuffs :p

I would recommend these two products for emergency use, not everyday as I feel that they might be too strong for young skin (I'm early early 20s by the way) as they contains Alpha-Hydroxy Acids. I have very fair and sensitive skin so I was like super nervous when I am applying the night repair one night and it turned out fine, very luckily. And the next morning your skin really looks more refine (as in pores are smaller) visually. I've ised the eye repair too on another day, it's alright... good.

Review: I'm still not quite sure about it as I've only used them one time. And I still hold true to my believe, night repair can't be a product to be use everyday. It's more of a treatment than daily skincare. Same goes for the eyec repair.

Price wise, if you're as thrifty as me, (who wouldn't really folk out $100++ dollars for the product). Tips is steal it from your mom. lol

Kose Junkisei Prime Creme Wash

Got this one @ guardian if I'm not wrong. Honestly I don't really fancy japanese face wash since most that I've used strips away literally "everything" from your face, leaving it dry and nothing but dry. So I was rather skeptical at 1st, but I've saw some pretty good reviews about it so finally gained the courage to purchase it.

Review: ok, good, at least it doesn't strip the moisture away from your face completely and it's not costly, leaves your skin clean and (not exactly moisturized) but at least your skin feels kinda alright after using it.

Mario Badescu Flower & Tonic Mask

This is one good product that I want to share with you guys (I've spend so much more on skincare than cosmetics, you know if your skin is healthy, you'll look good whether you have make up or not), I've almost done with it and each time after applying this mask, you can always be sure to wake up to a better complexion next day.

So now on to the review. Sorry that didn't get a chance to open up the cap to show you guys the interior, FYI it's a thick light-mint-greenish-kind-of-paste and feels rather cooling upon application. After which when you're done waiting for 15 mins, you'll find it hard to wash it off. Use a sponge, I say. And you'll too notice the mask will leave a thin residue on your skin, it's alright, don't have to wash the residue away, just cleanse it with your toner and then follow by moisturizers will do.

Alright, cutting the crap, you can find more information on MB's offical website and it's soooo much cheaper ordering it online. Or alternatively, you can get it @ Sephora, but yup more costly in sg.

Alright I bet most have tried this product already but anyhow I'm still going to have my say.

I bought this mainly because of the fairly good reviews by fellow bloggers and my first try was indeed pleasant. However for those of you who knows liquid eyeliner, this can't beat it. For me, I've never really try many gel eyeliners and I'd say canmake's one dries up pretty fast, this picture above took me a lil longer than I have expected to draw it (I prefer fast applications for saving time). Still over all for the price it's yup not bad, I have to rush every morning so this does not really suits me, it's a good item if you have the time to use the brush and draw your pretty eyeline slowly.

I got both japanese cosmetic off the internet at a cheap price. They both worked as the product claims. However I find the lipgloss way too sticky for my liking. But for those who want lasting lipgloss and don't mind the thick feeling it gives, I would strongly recomment this product, it stays all day~~~ even after lunch!

Anna Sui Lipstick: Very sheer and smells fantastic!

Tiffa glittery eyeliner: I would definitely recommend, so easy to apply and removes so effortlessly. 5 out of 5 stars!

Paul & Joe, Mineral Powder

Just mainly for the Paul & Joe lipstick I purchased over ebay. It's the most beautiful Rose color I've ever own. Note, not extremely red yet subtle. Imagine benetint on your lips, with this lipstick I've always got compliments on my seemly au natural looking lip.

However, buying it over the counter without any promotion might not be worth it, at least for me, so I suggest going online for it!

They also have the best lipgloss ever! I hate gloss that's thick and sticky. You really have to try and you'll know why I love their gloss. I've never had gloss used up till half of it's original quantity. And now my KP gloss is almost used up!

Info: KP used to have a counter @ Seiyu Bugis (now it's BHG bugis blaaaah) but they drew out from singapore in 2008 (if i'm not mistaken) and (if i'm not mistaken once again) the nearest you can get KP's products is at Johor Malaysia~

Clinique New No.2 Clarifying Toner & Shiseido Brightening Facial Cleanser

I feel the need to speak up over the controversies about Clinique’s No. 2 toner/lotion, what I understand is there are two different No.2 toner/lotion, the old one which is known to be the purple coloured one (is the one that contains alcohol!). Not the new Clinique’s No.2 toner/lotion (which is the one in my picture).

Difference: (with alcohol) purple bottle, No.2 clarifying lotion
(without) blue bottle, No.2 clarifying moisture lotion

So now, verdict, the new No.2 lotion is good! Go get it. I have personally used up to the 4th bottle already. No lying.

As for shiseido's cleanser, I've yet to use it before my mom snatches it away, she commented it's not bad...well... depends on you as of whether how you want to interpret it.
